The Adoption-Failure Buyer

One of the most important patterns in the pipeline and it doesn't map to a single vertical. It maps to an experience.

The fear
These prospects have used PM software before and been burned by failed adoption. They're not worried about features. They're worried about whether anyone will actually use it.

The pattern

  • Angie (JobsOhio): 7 years babysitting users who won't log in to RoboHead
  • Felicia (Nelnet): killed their Asana intake form after it kept getting changed by different users; back to email
  • Molly (Accentra): Monday.com isn't getting used the way they want, things still fall through the cracks
  • Cape Cod: Basecamp and Monday both failed to stick before Workzone

The discovery question

“Tell me about the last time you rolled out a PM tool that didn't stick. What happened? What did you do differently after that?”

How to respond

When a prospect has this history, the entire pitch pivots to Workzone's human-led support model and onboarding approach.

The line
“Our average customer has been with us 7+ years. That's not because they signed a long contract. It's because the tool actually gets used.”

Then walk through what onboarding looks like: goals session, admin training, team training, ongoing human support, product specialist team with 10+ years tenure.

Workzone's “human led, digitally supported” model is the direct answer to this fear. It's currently buried in a bullet point on the intro slide. It should be a story.
